MIMA RENARD

MIMA Renard

"For some involuntary reason, Mima Renard came into our lives and, deep down, we knew we had to create a story about her existence. After more than a year of exhaustive research and exhausting all the sources we found in countries like Brazil, Portugal, France and the United States, we found ourselves empty-handed. With little more than just a paragraph of historical context for our vision, we eventually became fatigued by only encountering dead ends. We decided to recalibrate our ideas and try again. We began to research as deeply as possible while, at the same time, asking ourselves: “Why did Brazil’s most famous witchcraft accuser quickly fall into oblivion?” what Mima's life would be like; the injustices she suffered, the shame, torture and fear that cursed her life. With our fascination and imagination, the themes expressed began to transcend geographic and generational boundaries, making Mima's story equally. relevant in today's world. The conclusion of this book series is a fictional interpretation of the fascinating and elusive life of Mima Renard. We hope this literary exercise encourages our readers not just to delve deeply into the complexities of Mima's life, but rather to fill in every empty space in her story."
